A rough week...yeah, that doesn't quite cover it...

I will get to the nails I promise. :) This last week has been pretty terrible, and anything nail related got kicked off the stove entirely, not just moved to the back burner.
My older brother died last Monday. He was only 32. We still don't know what happened. I wore the same nail polish for 6 days. I broke 2 nails, one of which I chewed off down to the quik during my brother's visitation & funeral. So ignore the nubbin in the picture.
My brother's favorite college team for all sports it seems, but basketball for sure was UK Wildcats. For those that don't know, that's University of Kentucky. As a result, his favorite color was blue...
The mani I have is all done with polishes from the lovely Lynda's "Creations By Lynda" polishes which I will have a review for later this week but for now..... I'm sure you guys will be seeing a lot of blue manis from me for a while.

Not about nails...

We buried my big brother today. I have been out of state with my parents and other family members. Please send prayers & thoughts of love and strength for my family. This has by far been the hardest thing I've ever been through. I'll be back with swatches and such here soon. It's just not what I'm focused on here recently....

Sally's Dress inspired (Nightmare Before Christmas)

Nightmare Before Christmas is easily one of my favorite movies. It would seem that I have passed the love on to my children. So when my 5 year old suggested nails like Sally's dress I had zero objection. :) Looking at it after the fact, I think if I was to add a matte top coat it might look better. But I'm happy with it. :)

Fall is here! Halloween is just around the corner!

I love Halloween. I swear every year I started getting excited a few days before the previous year, lol. I decided to try out an idea I had, a variation on something similar that I did last year. My base color is a little lighter than planned but the idea is there....now to do it again later and make it better!

China Glaze Rendezvous With You...swatch and review

So, I went to Sally's yesterday. I have been on a "no buy" recently. And that ended with an Above The Curve purchase, lol. So I went to Sally's to pick up nail art/color wheels. I walked out with 4 new polishes. One of which is Rendezvous With You.
This was almost a 1 coater! I did 2 though to make sure things evened out and then put a coat of Seche on top. The formula reminded me a lot of Stone Cold from the Hunger Games collection, without the matte finish. I imagine removal is gonna be annoying.

Halloween will be here before we know it, and every October I try to do something different everyday. Halloween is my favorite! SO, I've been experimenting, and the pictures below will be the first layer of something that will be wonderful....if it transfers from my brain's idea to my nails the way i hope it will...

Corset inspired

I've been wanting to do corset inspired nails for quite a while. Did them a couple weeks ago, then my computer crashed, and everything had to be reset to defaults. SOO, I did them again. Not sure how I feel about the final result.

Finally seem to be kicking this flu bug, computer seems to be back to normal, and Halloween is going to be here before I know it! My favorite holiday. I have lots of mani plans!
