12 DOC challenge. SNOWFLAKES!!!

Who doesn't love snowflakes??? I love snow, snowflakes, snowmen, etc... The only thing I hate about snow is how some people seem to forget how to drive when it starts falling from the sky. And the icky, gross, ugly slush that happens after it's been on the ground for a few days, but "virgin" snow. So pretty!

For my snowflake mani I used the following...

Spectraflair topcoat as the base, Rite Stripe White, and China Glaze's Glistening Snow.

Since this mani my hubz and I decided we needed to paint. In the process I broke a couple nails and had to cut the rest of them to a shorter than I prefer length, but it'll be ok! : )

One Polish Junkie's small way to honor the people lost in Connecticut.

The story surrounding the tragedy in Connecticut is mind boggling. My brain, both as a person and as a mother can not imagine the pain and sorrow.
I Got home from work, changed, and spent a good 15 minutes just staring at my sleeping babies, so thankful to be able to do so... My thoughts, love and prayers going to those people that can't...

I have noticed that many pages are asking that today we all do a WHITE mani in honor and remembrance of the innocent lives taken today. I think this is a beautiful gesture and I am participating. The nail community is amazing to me! Feel free to share yours if you like...

I did White on White for the innocence lost.. Not just for the deaths, but the tragedy, and violence that these young children had to witness. And 26 stars for the lives lost, and 1 heart cause mine goes out to so many people during this tragic event.

12 DOC Challenge, GIFTS

There's no opening for this one, lol. There were no deep thoughts, memories triggered, etc... Here it is. : )

For this I used China Glaze Red Satin, White on White, and Running in Circles. On the middle finger and thumb I used some temporary tattoos that my kids picked out. Index finger is a gradient of the three colors mentioned before. KleanColor Nail to Toe in Retro Silver for the "details".

I'm really not happy with the middle finger, but I love the little penguins on my thumb, lol.

PENGUINS!

I was wrapping presents for my babies, and all I could think of was how cute the paper was. Then I went into that part of my brain that takes inspiration from things and turns that inspiration into something I can put on my nails. I wanted to save it for one of the challenges, but I just didn't want to wait anymore, lol. Here's the paper...

And here's what I did with it. I used China Glaze Frost Bite, My trusty Rite Stripe in Black and White, as well as a small amount of acrylic paint.

I'm still working on getting snow flakes the way I want them to look, and I don't have any stamping plates with snow flakes on them, but I was pretty pleased with this : )

Sleep sweet when you get there! Less than two weeks until Christmas!

12 DOC challenge, Holiday Movie!

I went back and forth trying to decide which holiday movie would be my inspiration, then I watched an old favorite with my kids....

I used China glaze "White on White" and "Red Satin", Rite Stripe white and black. It's supposed to be Snoopy on the ring finger, guess I could have turned my hand for a better picture of that, lol. For the lights on the pinky I used Orly Miss Conduct, CG Frostbite, CG Running In Circles, Color Club Glitter Wonderland and Color Club winter affair for the little gold on the ornament.

An excuse to use my camera!

Now that I've finally found my camera, it's time to post a mani just cause I can! I have lost and found my camera sooo many times over the last few months, and now I have a designated place for it! So I have a swatch (I guess) and some pictures of my "collection" to share with you!

I've been dealing with sick kids the last couple weeks, and I'm not feeling so hot myself, but I HATE for my nails to be naked. SO, O-P-I's Extravagance is what I have to show you today. I still stand by my statement that OPI is somewhat over rated, but now that I have more than just one of their polishes in my collection, I think I'm becoming a believer, lol.

Without flash, it's so pretty!

With flash so you can see all the pretties! :)
I have a few other pictures. Not of this polish but of my "collection". I've gone back and forth on whether or not to post it, but I figure at the moment this blog is mostly for me, so why not?!

All the drawers were full, so I had to move things around and use the "shelves" on top.

Drawer #1 My China Glaze, Orly, Kleancolor, and Sally Hansen

Drawer #2 My Sinful Colors, Wet N' Wild, Milani, L.A. Girl

Drawer #3 is miscellaneous stuff. Mini's from all sorts of brands, Franken Polishes, Drug Store Brands, and Files

Well, Now I do believe I'm going to watch Richard Pryor and hopefully get some sleep! It is far too late for me to be awake, but the drugs the doc gave me have my sleep "schedule" all messed up.

I found my camera!

I found my camera! That is all. : )
