Jade Vermelho Surreal

I have had this polish on my wish list for MONTHS! So after some contemplation and a wonderful thing called a tax return I did a little splurging, an finally got it! I'm so happy! Still on the hunt for a dark red holo, and one day I'll find it..or I'll make it, lol. Here is Jade's Vermelho Surreal. 2 coats. No topcoat.

I was sort of in a hurry so I went ahead and applied a topcoat so my nails would be dry by the time I got to work, and I regretted it the whole night, lol. It definitely took away from the holo yummy-ness.

This whole shoulder hurt business has really thrown a huge monkey wrench into my daily activities. I find myself doing more polish related things then I did before, and I didn't think that was possible, LOL. I can't pick up my kids, I can't play like I usually do cause running, jumping, wrestling, etc.. all hurt. Anyhow, here's some manis I did over the weekend, and a swatch of Zoya Storm

I wanted to do a purple gradient mani cause I need the practice. My 4 year old picked out my colors. I told her to pick out purples, and she hands me these, lol. I liked the idea, and I'm guessing someone with a bit more skill in the gradient department could make this look pretty good. It's CG's VIII, Sally Hansen Lacey Lilac, and Milani's one coat purple glitter.

After deciding the purple gradient attempt was a big fail, I wanted to do something "girly" So, I asked my 13 year old to pick out some polishes, and give me some ideas. She handed me Sinful Colors Truth or Dare, Milani 3D Digital, and 2 temporary tattoos. I actually really liked the overall effect of this! Got LOTS of compliments on it at work too.

Then I had my son, who is 6 pick the 3rd mani for the weekend. So here we have Orly's Dysfuntional Family and CG's Scattered and Tattered. I loved the end result of this!

And finally my own "simple" choice. Zoya Storm. 2 coats of pretty holo.

Pure Ice Strapless

So, one of my local Walmarts FINALLY had a display with a few of the new Pure Ice line. I picked up "Strapless". I just thought it was super pretty. It was however slightly disappointing at first because it was so thin, but that makes it great for layering! And that's exactly what I did. So, here's Pure Ice's "Strapless" over China Glaze's "Liquid Leather". 2 coats Liquid Leather, 1 coat of Strapless. Lots of pictures, it's just so sparkly! :)

I had to include these last 2 pictures. I don't know what happened, but I thought the effect was kinda cool!

Swatch Fest!

Originally I had planned on doing several different posts with the recently acquired polishes, but I'm just going to put them all in one post!

First we have Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear in Mellow Yellow

A pretty yellow creme. 2 coats. No top coat. I think my favorite part about this yellow is I didn't have to do a coat of white first...that and it reminds me of Tweety Bird.

Second we have Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear in Blew Me Away!

A bright/light blue creme. 2 coats. No top coat. Very pretty, nearly a 1 coater. But make sure you use base coat! Maybe even 2 coats of it, cause this WILL stain your skin/nails.

Third we have Sally Hansen Hard As Nails in No Hard Feelings.

A light purple creme. 2 coats. No top coat.


Fourth we have China Glaze's VIII

A deep purple creme. 2 coats. No top coat. I heart this color! It's been on my wishlist for quite some time. I had a coupon, and my local Sally's was doing a deal so I finally bought it!

Finally, fifth I have 2 different colors from Sinful Colors. By this point in the swatching my cuticles, and fingers were screaming "STOP IT!" lol And my drugs for my shoulder were kicking in.

On the left we have Truth or Dare. On the right we have Rise and Shine.

Truth or Dare is a reddish pink creme. 2 coats. No top coat. Ten years ago I would have called this an "old lady" color. But I actually really like it! Not sure what that says about me, lol.

Rise and Shine is a teal shimmer. 2 coat. No top coat.

Is Sinful Colors Georgio and dupe for Orly's Naughty?

So with the recent shoulder issue, I decided some much needed swatching needed to happen! So, I sat down last night and had a swatch fest. In the process I came across 2 colors that had been in my collection for a little while, and realized that they were the same, or at least looked it..

So here's 2 coats of each. The caption under the photos will tell you which color is on which nail. The picture is 2 coats, no top coat.

Pinky and Middle are Orly's Naughty, Ring and Index are Sinful Colors Georgio

So they're not EXACT dupes, but I couldn't tell the difference until I took the picture with the flash. Georgio is a bit more brown than Naughty, but they're SO similar, I'm gonna say that Georgio is a dupe for Naughty.

In other shoulder news, I found out yesterday that I did NOT tear my rotater cuff! I can't even begin to express how happy that makes me! I did however bruise the tissue. My doctor said, "You didn't tear it, but it is massively bruised. I'm saying massively because saying moderate to severe bruising doesn't cover the amount of bruising you have."
There's also some pinching going on. The muscles, tissue, and a couple nerves got pulled up into the joint when I fell (or so the doctor said). I start physical therapy soon. :)
