Comic Book Lingo

Hey everyone! After a LONG over due vacation to my Mom's house, I'm back! My "welcome back" post is using nail art tattoos that can be found in the new Fing'rs nail art kits. They can be found at Walmart. I have been neglecting my cuticles and man is it obvious! Time to do the 3 a days again.

For this look I used 2 coats of CG's white on white and then dipped the tattoos in water, and slid them onto my nails. These tattoos are way too big for my nails. I cut them into quarters. That way they last longer. :)

Rainbow dotticure

My 5 year old helped me decide what to do to my nails today. She said she wanted me to make my nails look like skittles, lol. I liked the idea, but didn't want to do a normal skittle mani, so I got to looking around on youtube, google, and just did a few general searches for ideas. Enter my son with the Nook, and he was searching as well, lol. It's a Robin Moses design, the first 3 minutes or so of the video is her making a dotting tool, but she calls it "Shotgun Rainbow". Shotgun Rainbow

I don't use acrylic paints, and I didn't make a dotting tool, lol. But here is my version.

Creations By Lynda! Swatches and Review!

I got a package from the lovely Lynda with some polish samples to try out. I've had this prepared for a while, but things kept me from being able to post much of anything.

As always, the formulas for these polishes were great! Each swatch is 3 thin coats with a thin coat of Seche on top. Except for the last one, the details will be in the picture's caption.

I didn't realize until I uploaded the pictures that I was in such a hurry and was so anxious to get the pictures done for these polishes that I didn't moisturize lol You can see the line of acetone from the clean up, lol.

Check out Lynda's creations! She does more than polish!

Her Webpage! or Her Facebook!

First up, Orchidaceae. A loverly (yes loverly) shade of purple.

Second, The Sky Has Fallen. A B-E-A-utiful sky blue shade

Last, but not least. Blood Moon Rising. I LOVE this! It's a glitter topper, and if you chose to, you could wear it alone. I have it shown here a couple ways. Pinky is 1 coat, Ring is 2. Middle & index are China Glaze's Pelican Grey. 1 coat of Blood Moon Rising on middle nail and 2 on index. I wore this for 3 days! That's gotta be some kind of record for me! I just loved the way the red, black, and white glitters looked on top of my grey polish!

As always, I am 100% satisfied with these polishes. The formulas were great, the colors are loverly, and I just love all 3!

sunset and palm trees attempt

Car broken, stress at work, stress with the kids, the list goes on and on. I need a "do over" for the last week or so. But things are calming down, car is fixed, and I decided to finally get back to my nails and blog. My nails have been naked, or all colored with just a couple coats of whatever polish I grabbed. Today I decided I needed a summer themed mani that made me smile. I LOVE sunsets. And have been wanting to do a mani involving sunsets for a couple weeks. So I did this and with a striping brush and some Liquid Leather, I decided to add palm trees & islands....something inspired by them at least. :) My nails are all finally close to being the same length again, which makes me happy.

Patriotic #2..a stamping mis-adventure

Since my last post I have managed to break every nail on my left hand, have my TV catch on fire, and other everyday stresses. But here it is, #2 for the patriotic manicures I had planned for everyday this week. Hoping the insanity is done for now, and I can keep this up everyday for the rest of this week, lol.

I started with White Polish, and Orly's Shockwave. Used a stamper for the stars, and I've never been really good with stamping, however here it is.
