Patriotic Week #1

Decided this week will be patriotic nails. so I thought a chevron red, white, and blue with stars would be a good idea....execution isn't the greatest but I'm ok with the results.

Dandy Lion Around, Frost Bite, and a red by Pure Ice but the sticker came off so I don't know the name of it...Dug the stars out of a different polish and placed them.

China Glaze Grape Pop/Sinful Colors Amethyst.

At the request of a friend, I have a comparison here for you. A possible dupe? You be the judge. The pictures show 2 coats, no top coat of both China Glaze's Grape Pop and Sinful Colors Amethyst.

Not quite a dupe...sinful colors being just a touch lighter. I still think they're both pretty.

Cruella Devill

After being sidetracked by a partially dislocated ankle (or so the doctor thinks) and finally being able to go back to work, I can now use my own computer rather than having it be a helpful though guilt inducing distraction for my kids.

So I thought I'd continue with my Disney Villain thing :) Cruella Devill or is it Devil? I'm not sure, but she is by far the most fashion conscious of the villains lol.

And in case you're curious...here's what the Dr. thinks was my partially dislocated swollen ankle. The odd part? I never had any pain, lol.

Maleficent!

I ordered some water decals a week or so ago. I haven't tried them before, and figured Disney Villains was a good way to start! First up is my all time favorite villain! Maleficent!

Before the pictures, I have to say, I was pretty disappointed with the water decals. My only real issue is that I wish they were a little bigger. Just a little.

Don't mind the extra finger, had to use my pinky to stabilize my non dominant hand
China Glaze Liquid Leather, I'm with the Lifeguard, and Spontaneous.

Neon Rainbow Gradient Youtube inspired

Gradient, or Ombre? Gradient or Ombre? Gradient or Ombre???

I have had both of these explained to me by a few different people, and I am just not sure that it matters anymore, lol. The simplest explanation I have heard is Ombre is for hair, Gradient is for nails. I have also heard, Color shifting on 1 nail is a gradient, colors that are all from the same family but gradually get lighter or darker with each fingernail is ombre.  I DON'T KNOW! Honestly, I don't do this style mani often enough to worry too much about it lol.

I was looking for something to do on youtube. The difference was I was looking for something that was outside of my comfort zone. I'm not real good with the gradient/ombre thing, and neon colors and I do not get along. But I chose THIS tutorial by cutepolish, and decided to give it a try. Neon colors and all.

My first ever attempt at fish scales...well inspired by them anyway

I have been seeing manicures inspired by fish scales a lot recently. I've never done them before yesterday, here are the results. I used all Hologlam colors.

Heroes in a half shell!

My son turned 7 last week. We had his birthday party this past Saturday, his request, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle nails to go with the theme of his party.

And just cause I thought it was the best looking Ninja Turtles cake ever...

I'm so proud of my baby boy!

HERE is the youtube link to the tutorial I watched to help me figure out how to put TMNT on my nails lol

a little fun

Had a little fun with some zig zag tattoos

Stash Update

As any polish blogger knows, there is 1 question we always get asked, no matter how long we've been involved with this polish thing. How much polish do you have? When I started this a couple years or so ago, I had 2 shoe boxes, not big ones either, just regular sized shoe boxes. And in those boxes was every polish I owned, including base & top coats. As well as remover. Then upgraded to a 3 drawer rubber maid set up, and now I have melmers and I love them! So from 2 shoe boxes to 488 polishes, not including base & top coats. HERE is a link to a previous post with my old set up, minus the shoe boxes, lol. Here's my stash :) Not as impressive as some, I'd love to have Kayla Shevonne's set up!! LIKE THIS!!! But for now....

Another youtube inspiration

Not too long ago, I posted about a manicure inspired by my daughter, HERE. My daughter loved it, and wanted me to do a different version on her nails, but still inspired by the same video tutorial that Professional IDQ posted. The link to that is in the other post as well. Anyhow, here it is.

Sinful Colors Endless Blue

I've been really into blues and pinks lately, not entirely sure why. So, while at walgreens the other day, I found this, hidden in a display with a different brand, and I thought to myself, "Self, you need this" lol

Another youtube inspired mani

Again, the lovely Professional IDQ has inspired another mani. HERE is the mani I tried to recreate. My daughter will likely want this one on her nails as well...once they get a little longer. I currently am sporting nubs, so I didn't have as long or beautiful a canvas to work with, but nonetheless here they are...
